Germany and Haribo Sweets

!±8± Germany and Haribo Sweets

I was fortunate enough to have the chance to travel to Germany. My company sent me to study the economy of the country and the factors affecting its growth and stability. More than my interest of studying the subject, what made me excited is the chance to finally set foot to the home of the best sweets in the world for me - Haribo Sweets!

Since I was young, I have always loved Haribo Sweets. I would never leave the grocery store unless my mom would include a pack of those delicious gummi bears with Haribo on its labels. It has become a routine and until now if I have the chance to drop by a grocery store or a candy shop, I will always bring home some Haribo confectionery products.

I also bring some of the Haribo sweets that I bought to the office. I keep a constant supply of gummi candies of all sorts - frizzy cola, gummi bears, etc. I find it practically satisfying to indulge in Haribo products as I rack my brains in analysing economical data and other financial information needed by my job. My co-workers would often wonder what keeps me happy despite of my intellectually demanding job. I often utter a simple answer - Haribo.

I arrived in Germany with lots of plans. As soon I get myself settled in the hotel, I went for a chat with my contact. I was stationed in Cologne, Germany. The Haribo Sweets main office is in Bonn. I was in luck! The place is only 25 kilometres away from where I am staying and there ain't no way that I'm going to leave Germany without paying it a visit. Everyday of working in Germany is fun. There are a lot of places to see and great people to meet.

Came Saturday of that week and I was too excited the night before and started packing my stuff for Bonn. I was in bed but I couldn't help to imagine and be excited of what it'll be like to finally reach the birth place of my favourite Haribo Sweets. I made sure to bring a map with me and prepared all the cash I would need. I wouldn't want to waste my time looking for ATMs.

I arrived at Bonn, Germany early of Saturday morning and I was really delighted with the place. It was nothing close to what I have imagines. The beauty of the place and the architectural wonders is just a marvel to awe.
